Aconcagua Group Training

A Mountain Based Approach to Training

We climb as group, why not train as a group?

This is a new opportunity to join others from around the world as a support team to help with the months of preparation that lead up to an expedition. There are a lot of commonalities amongst climbers and those who aspire to challenge themselves in the mountains. Meet those from different cities and learn about how the long journey before the trip begins can enhance the overall trip.

A Comprehensive PDF training plan with an emphasis on general strength and conditioning using a typical gym and either stair climbing or outdoor uphill workouts. Gym workouts emphasize strengthening muscle groups required for long days wearing a pack and the strength and endurance required in a multi day mountaineering trip. There are four AEX trips with different start dates, you will be supported until your departure date.

  • Equipment Required: Traditional Gym, Backpack, Stairmaster/Treadmill Access OR Outside Trails nearby

  • Acclimatization Period of 30 days prior to Trip Start Date, Discussion and Individual charts to assist in the set up for sleeping in the Hypoxico Tent

  • Discussion of Training Topics

  • Google Meet Check Ins, Every 2 weeks as a Group to build camaraderie and community for the climbers
